Real equations in Word, editable forever.

Write in NeoMath or in the side panel and the equation lands as a Word equation. Select it, bring it back, change it and update it, without losing anything you typed.

Word for Windows, Word for Mac and Word on the web

The problem

Word's equation editor can't handle a book

  • Equations are hard to build

Many clicks for a fraction, and the result doesn't always match the printed page.

  • Pasting from other programs breaks

The equation turns into an image and can no longer be corrected.

  • Numbering by hand

Renumbering equations after a revision takes time and introduces mistakes.

Authors and teachers spend hours on formatting instead of writing.

NeoMath in Word gives equation control back to the author.

Three ways to use it

Choose what suits your team

  • NeoMath tab (Windows)

Add-in for the Word ribbon, with a global template as an alternative.

  • App bridge (Windows)

Ctrl+Enter sends from NeoMath to the open Word document; Ctrl+Shift+W brings back the selected one.

  • Add-in (Mac and web)

Side panel with preview, palette and chemistry shortcuts.

The solution

Built for long documents

Edit later

What you typed comes back whole

Each equation sits in a tagged content control, and what you typed, including macros and chemistry formulas, comes back when you ask.

  • Bring the selected one back to edit
  • Update without losing the control
  • Convert $…$ in the text into equations
Numbering

Equations numbered with Word fields

Numbering uses Word fields, so cross-references and Update fields work the way Word expects. Renumber the whole document whenever you need to.

  • Numbering on the right or the left
  • Export every equation in the document
  • Turn equations into LaTeX text
Terminal (Windows)
neomath word ajuda
neomath word inserir formula.tex
neomath word atualizar formula.tex
Compatibility

Where it works

  • Windows

NeoMath tab, global template and app bridge.

    • Word for Windows
    • Configurable shortcuts in NeoMath
  • macOS

NeoMath add-in in the side panel.

    • Word for Mac with Microsoft 365
  • Web

The same add-in in Word on the web.

    • Loaded by the administrator or the user

Frequently asked questions

Do equations stay as images or as Word equations?

As Word equations. Anyone who opens the document without NeoMath sees and prints it normally; with NeoMath, you can edit again from the original code.

Do I need to enable macros?

No. The tab and the add-in don't rely on automatic macros or on changing Word's security.

Can I extract the equations from a document?

Yes. Use NeoConverter, the command line or MCP: each equation comes out in its own file, with a report.
