Supported LaTeX commands

The LaTeX commands, environments, symbols and packages NeoMath understands, including chemistry with mhchem and per-part color.

On this page

NeoMath understands everyday LaTeX for books, handouts and exams. This applies in the editor’s LaTeX mode, in paste, on the command line, in the API, in MCP, in NeoScript and in the plugins.

Color#

LaTeX
\textcolor{red}{x}
\textcolor[HTML]{1A2B3C}{y}
\textcolor[rgb]{1,0,0}{z}
\textcolor[cmyk]{0,1,1,0}{w}
{\color{blue} a+b}

Sizes#

\tiny, \scriptsize, \footnotesize and \small shrink the part.

Packages#

Before reading, the translator converts to plain LaTeX the commands of widely used packages: siunitx, nicematrix, xlop, polynom, physics, mathtools, mhchem and cancel.

Chemistry#

NeoMath draws formulas and reactions written with mhchem and chemmacros:

LaTeX
\ce{2 H2 + O2 -> 2 H2O}
\ce{CaCO3 ->[\Delta] CaO + CO2 ^}
\ce{Fe^{3+} + 3 OH- -> Fe(OH)3 v}
\pu{25 °C}

\ce{}, \ch{}, \pu{}, \ox, \enthalpy and the other chemmacros commands are accepted in any generation route. For AI models, the MCP resource neomath://quimica-latex lists them all.
